Nimbo Safety Roller
Nimbo Safety Roller is a folding adjustable wheeled walker designed for indoor and outdoor use by individuals with balance or walking disabiities. All models have an aluminum frame, latex-free handgrips with flanged ends, and four soft rubber wheels that adhere to surfaces to prevent the nimbo walker from rolling backward. The one-direction rear wheels have an aluminum ratchet and pin mechanism, and an anti-reverse override bracket that disengages the one-direction wheels to allow both forward and reverse mobility. The front wheels swivel and include a locking mechanism to switch them from swivel to non-swivel. Many physical therapists prefer posterior (reverse) walkers for children with Cerebral Palsy and other neurological, orthopedic and developmental disorders. The Nimbo posterior safety roller supports the user from behind requiring them to procure a more upright posture and it also promotes trunk extension. Some children find great relief in the temporary use of assistive walking equipment. Current research suggests that posterior nimbo safety rollers, also known as 'reverse,'or 'reverse-K' walkers, may be more beneficial for children than anterior walkers. |
